Quick facts about me. I love makeup (obviously), I love to bake cookies (soft batch cream cheese chocolate chip are my fav), my puppy, Dexter, is my life, and I LOVE Jaclyn Hill. If you don’t know who Jaclyn Hill is, open a new tab right now and go watch one of her videos. She is a very popular beauty guru on YouTube. In a word, she’s spectacular. She’s a very positive influence into the whole beauty community and not to mention she’s extremely talented. I could go on all day! Recently, Jaclyn has created a worldwide makeup tag called Ride or Die. Ride or Die makeup is your absolute top shelf products. The products you can’t live without. In your eyes, the best of the best. Of course, I thought it was only right to bring the tag to the blogging world!
My Ride or Die makeup consists of both high-end and drugstore makeup. Although I try a lot of products, these are ones I always fall back into the routine of using. So far as of this moment, I haven’t come across anything I like more than these! Let’s get into it…
Primer: BECCA Backlight Priming Filter—If a product claims to give me a natural glow, it’s already in my cart to purchase! BECCA is an amazing brand, I highly recommend their products. This primer will shine through your foundation and give such a nice glow to your skin. You can even wear it alone to make your skin appear brighter and more youthful. I can’t do my makeup without it!
Foundation: NARS All Day Luminous and Clinque 2-in-1 Foundation—NARS will give you a luminous finish throughout the day. If you like dewy skin you need to try this! However, if you have dry skin pass on this foundation; it’ll cling to every dry patch you have. The Clinque foundation is perfect for every day. It’s a very natural finish with incredible coverage. This foundation will last all day too and is perfect for both dry and oily skin types.
Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape—Okay, so this is a fairly new product. BUT let me tell you, it’s by far the best concealer I’ve ever used in my life. Full coverage, hydrating, non-cakey, doesn’t crease, heaven in a tube. It’s like the MAC Pro Longwear concealer but not as thick.
Bronzer: Makeup Forever Pro Fusion Bronzer—This product is super cool. To the touch it’s like a cream bronzer but has a powder finish. The Pro Fusion gives a natural (as natural as bronzer can get) look to your skin. Makeup Forever in general is a great brand and definitely has something for everyone.
Blush: Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore—Too much blush, you run the risk of joining the circus, too little and you’re washed out. The happy balance of circus clown and flat is all achieved through this blush. It’s a mid-tone neutral blush with a golden shimmer veining throughout the powder. Again, with the natural glow obsession, this blush is my favorite because of that. The shimmer creates such a nice glow to the apples of your cheeks!
Highlight: BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop—Never have I ever been more obsessed with a product! Highlighter isn’t for everyone. I was anti highlight for a long time before this. I thought it was so odd to have random stripes of super glittery product on the tops of your cheekbones. Now if I had the opportunity, I’d definitely bathe in highlighter. This is a very finely milled product. It’s super soft and very easy to work with. The champagne color of this highlighter is ideal for so many different skin tones. Not a natural glow but it’ll bring so much light to your face. You can also use it as an eyeshadow if you wanted!
Powder: Coty Airspun Powder Translucent Extra Coverage—The best powder I’ve used for baking my concealer in a long time! My concealer doesn’t budge at all. I love the Laura Mercier powder too but you get so much product for your money with this one! And the scent brings me back to my childhood.
Eye Shadow Primer: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot—I have oily eyelids. Most eye primers, the oil seeps right through and the cringe worthy phenomenon of creasing eyeshadow begins. With the MAC paint pot, the veins in my eyelids are completely concealed and a blank canvas is left. My eye makeup lasts all day and stays vibrant throughout the night. I love it too because you can wear it completely on its own (just remember to set it!). This little pot lasts a super long time. I’ve had mine a year now—totally justifies the price tag.
Eyeshadow Palette: Morphe 35O—If you are into neutrals THIS IS YOUR PALETTE! 35 shades, a combination of matte and shimmers. Super affordable. The quality of these shadows are incredible. For the price you pay, you would think these shadows wouldn’t be nearly as pigment, creamy, or blendable. These are high-end shadows at drugstore prices!
Mascara: Too Faced Better Than Sex—Voluminous lashes that don’t clump? Oooo girl, this mascara is a dream. It’ll make your lashes look like false lashes but without all the lash cutting and glue! This product in particular, I’ve repurchased countless times. There’s just nothing like it! You need to see it to believe it.
Eyeliner: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner—This liner is no joke! Tattoo Liner couldn’t be any more of a perfect name. This liner is super black and will last all day without any bleeding or cracking. It’s felt tip is stiff but still allows movement to effortlessly create a killer winged liner.
Eyebrows: L’Oreal Brow Stylist—Super skinny dual ended automatic pencil. On one side, is your brow product and the other is a spooley brush to comb out your brows. Filling in my brows has never been easier! I bought this product on a whim because I ran out of my usual one and needed something fast. I haven’t repurchased that other product since!
Setting Spray: MAC Prep and Prime Fix+—Okay, so this isn’t entirely a setting spray but I use it as one! This spray you can use before your makeup to hydrate your skin and afterwards to again bring life back to your face and settle all the powder products on your skin. Spray a little on your eyeshadow brush before you dip it in to shadow or loose pigment and it’ll make your shadow metallic and stick to your lids better! Works best with shimmer or glitter. I use this spray every single day!
Lipstick: Too Faced Melted Matte in Sell Out—Obsessed doesn’t even scrape the surface of how I feel about this product. I wear it just about every day. This liquid lipstick is the perfect mid-tone pinky brown color. It’s so pretty on the lips and the formula of this product is extremely comfortable. No flaking or streaking! It’ll really last all day and you’ll look fabulous wearing it.
Lip Gloss: Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian—Woo wee! Super glossy lips with a plumping effect. This entire line of lip gloss are my absolute favorites. I’m not a big lip gloss fan but these ones are an exception. I have multiple colors from this line and none of them disappoint! White Russian in particular is a nude pink color. Each gloss is pigmented with a minty sensation. The sensation does not subside right away either, it lasts a long time. Wear these glosses by themselves or a topper to any lipstick! Plumped and glossed lips never go out of style.
