Is this thing still on? Mic check 1… 2… 3… Hello everybody! It has been a LONG minute since I posted a new blog post! Holy macaroni. I feel like I am just like Carmen Sandiego right now… Where in the world was Alex these last 4-5 months? Although, I didn’t go on any worldly adventure… I was just bopping around the states which is still pretty fun! Quick recap for those of you who don’t follow me on social media: I quit an old job and started a new one, my fiancé came home from deployment (yay!), Dexter is still the cutest pup ever, I finished up my classes, started a new career education path and that brings us to today!
It really took me a long time to get my butt back in this seat and write a new post. I felt odd starting up again after taking such a break. I kept up with insta blogging so truly I never left in a sense. I sat for a while and thought about what I was going to post… I mean a LONG while. Truly, I could have started blogging months ago but I was stuck in my head and couldn’t write a dang thing. Obviously, I had a brain blast and you are finally reading what I thought would be the best way to jump back into blogging!
Okay, what? Lips? THAT was your great idea, Alex?
Yes! Just hear me out. While I was bopping through my life these past couple of months I continued to try different products as per the usual. Products came and went but one little product has stayed with me every single day and night. The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask ($15-$20). Game, set, match. My lips have met their one and only winning defender. Every single time I use this mask whether it’s for dry or chapped lips, after a wearing a liquid lipstick all day, or just because I’m extra, I wake up the next day with lips as soft as a baby’s bottom and as hydrated as coconut water.
Pretty much, this little magic tub of pink goo is everything you’ve been looking for. Forget the ChapStick! Uh, hello, new number, who dis? This does not leave your lips feeling like they need more like ChapStick most of the time does. It hydrates and soothes with vitamin C and antioxidants in an instant. The package even comes with a little lip applicator so you don’t have to dip your fingers into the pot! It’s a much thicker almost sticky looking balmy goo. On your lips though, it is super smooth, very nourishing, and most importantly not sticky. It has a slight sweet berry smell to it—nothing overpowering. It’s formulated with a Berry Mix Complex of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry and blueberry extracts. I put this balm on before I go to bed and wake up ready for the day. Sometimes when I’m super organized (its rare believe me) I put this lip mask on in the morning if I know i’m going to be wearing a liquid lip later on and it makes wearing the lipstick that much more comfortable/enjoyable. But again, that’s rare!
As we head into these cooler months, I truly believe this mask will be a saving grace for a lot of you! Laneige used to be sold at Target but now is sold on sephora.com and Amazon. Pro Tip: It’s about $5 cheaper on Amazon. I’m really not sure why… but that is where I first bought mine and I have zero complaints!
