Happy March! Let’s start March off with some products I thought were bombdiggity last month! I can’t even believe it’s already March. We’re so close to springtime I can’t even wait! Also, March is a HUGE product launch month for a lot of companies. I’m super excited about a few Too Faced, Benefit, and Anastasia Beverly Hills releases! Anyway, let’s get in to these favorites!
Within the month of February, I really focused on my skin. I gravitated towards products that I felt really brought life and light to my skin. That includes both with makeup on and without. My skincare regime really hasn’t changed! If you want to know my nighttime skincare routine, click here.
LA Girl Pro Coverage Foundation ($7-$10)
HOLY AMAZING! If you follow me on Instagram you know I’m a HUGE foundation junkie. Also, if you don’t follow me on Instagram (@ablushofcolor) you totally should! I post there daily (sometimes multiple times) and I can engage with you guys easier! Come join the Insta fam, we have cookies! We don’t..but I do make corny jokes on the regular. Shameless plug over. Back to the foundation… This is hands down one of my absolute FAVORITE drugstore foundations I think ever. It’s all I’ve worn all month. I can’t put it down. It’s such a beautiful satin finish with a medium coverage. I did a full review on this foundation not too long ago so I don’t want to say too much except that you need it and you can thank me later. ALSO, it may or may not be a dupe for a very pricy high-end foundation 😉 Find out more in the review here!
Maybelline Better Skin Concealer ($6-$8)
Truth be told I bought this concealer because Target was out of the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and I was very upset. A month later and I can’t even get over how much I like it! I’m not entirely sure what the difference is to be honest in terms of coverage. Put it this way, I have dark under-eyes and both concealers cover them very well. What I do know is that the finish of this concealer is seriously a “my skin but better.” It’s absolutely beautiful. It’s so seamless and youthful looking. It’s not really a matte looking concealer like the Fit Me, it adds a natural looking appearance. In a nut shell the concealer looks like your skin but an all even tone and I absolutely love it. I really think it has replaced my Fit Me concealer!
I wasn’t kidding that I was all about my skin this month! If you have dark under-eyes this is your savior! This is a salmon corrector so it will completely cancel out blue/purple tones. Within the product as well is luminescent properties to bring even more light to that area. It’s a very strange consistency. It’s a cream but almost feels a little sticky. I was skeptical because I thought it would settle into the lines under my eyes but it doesn’t! I think using a damp sponge to blend out the product is key to that not happening. To use it I first put on my foundation and then using a synthetic brush (I use the Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer #57 brush) I get some of the product on the brush and apply it directly to underneath my eyes. Then using a damp beauty sponge I blend it out and then apply my concealer overtop. You definitely need a concealer or foundation over top this product because it is pink! I’ve had this little pot for a very long time. You definitely get your money’s worth!
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer ($5-$7)
Okay, I know what you’re thinking… “She JUST said that the Better Skin replaced the Fit Me…” But this is different! I haven’t been using the Fit Me in a traditional concealer way. I have this concealer in a much darker shade than my skin tone and I use it for cream bronzing. I like to do 4 tiny lines along my forehead/temples and then two tiny lines in the hollows of my cheeks for contouring. I love the way this concealer blends out like a dream and adds a bronzy appearance to my skin. Using concealer to bronze is a super cheap and great way to add depth to your skin without just the flatness of a powder. I have been “setting” or going over the concealer with bronzer for that added bronzy glow and loving it! Find out more great uses for concealer here!
WOW. Again, I have recently posted a full in-depth review of this product so I don’t want to say too much but WOW. This eyeliner is worth every pretty penny. It is the most intensely pigmented, long lasting, creamy, magical eyeliner I have ever used. I honestly don’t think I’ll be able to use another pencil eyeliner again. It’s that good! Actual black eyeliner (they have TONS of colors) that stays on your waterline/lid ALL DAY LONG! For the full review, click here!
Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Glossy Lips ($6 each)
The lip gloss obsession continues. I love Colourpop as a brand. These glosses are fantastic and made me fall more in love with the brand! They’re super comfortable, non-drying, and pigmented. They’re not extremely opaque like the Anastasia Beverly Hills glosses but they are beautiful and very affordable. These are very glossy glosses; they’re more your traditional glosses. My favorite shades are “Sookie”- a rich plum, “Finders Keepers”- a mauve, “Master Plan”-dusty plum. Clearly, I have a shade preference!
