A little change of pace today. Instead of the usual product divulgences we’re going to switch gears and talk about organization. If you know me at all, you’re probably laughing to yourself because I’m quite possibly one of the least
organized people. One would think that being engaged to someone in the military I would be somewhat organized but I’m not; that’s all him. It kinda works out though! He doesn’t like the way I fold laundry because it’s not within regulations so he folds it all! I’m not complaining. If there is one thing I am organized with though it’s my makeup collection. Obviously. Because I’m obsessed. And I treat that stuff better than most anything I own.
Eyeshadow palettes are one of my weak points. It’s definitely my number one
favorite thing to purchase! Therefore, I have a lot. All sizes. If you’ve watched YouTube beauty gurus, followed them on Instagram, or read any other beauty blog, you’ve definitely come across the beloved Alex 9 Draw from IKEA. It’s a tall, sleek piece of furniture with you guessed it, nine draws. The draws are ideal for storing your makeup. The draws are perfect for keeping your palettes and other products in. I have something similar to the Alex 9 Draw I purchased from Michaels craft store that has five draws.
But okay, back up. What if your collection isn’t that extensive? Or you’re like me and like to display some favorites right on your vanity. Ready for the secrets of all secrets? The answer to your cute organizational prayers? Letter holders. WHHHAAAT?! The slots are perfect for holding palettes! They also come in cute designs, structures, and sizes. On my vanity, I have three different holders. A large one for my big palettes, a small one for my tinier palettes like ones from Too Faced and a regular size one. The regular size I’m able to keep seven palettes in if I stand them up instead of laying them down. Everything is easily accessible! It’s a very cost effective way to quickly get yourself situated and organized. Quickly, for brushes, I take a similar approach. Instead of keeping them in a makeup bag, I use empty candle holders or pencil cups. Again, they come in all cute designs to fit your style! My go to places for these items are Target and the Container Store but you can find them anywhere!
I’ve linked some of the letter holders I have from Amazon. As well as others that I thought were cute!
(This is one of the exact holders I use!)
- Mesh Style Letter Holder
- Dual Mesh Style Letter Holder and pencil cup–ideal for palettes and brushes!
- Gold Wire Letter Holder –I may have to order this one myself! I have a similar blue one.
- Modern ‘U’ Shape letter holder
- Floral Laser Etched Pencil Cup –I have this exact one in white too! Matches the letter holder perfectly.
- Gold Wire Pencil Cup –this would match both the Gold Wire letter holder and the Modern ‘U’!
