If there are two things I love besides makeup they would be affordable beauty products and affordable beauty products that WORK! I’m guilty of getting caught up in the hype and purchasing a product that’s cheap and then I’m stuck starring at it in my makeup drawer for months while I reach over and around it for better things. However, when I do find fantastic products at affordable prices, I tend to buy one of every color. It’s a habit that may have gotten a teensy bit out of control. The e.l.f. face palettes are one of those products that I (must) have in duplicates! They’re so compact and each come with a very sizable mirror. But the actual product… Lordy! It’s fantastic.
Each little palette comes with four generous pans. My favorite ones that I have include the all-over-face, blush, and highlight (they call it “illuminating”) palettes. Another super awesome deal, they’re all only $6 each! The all-over-face palette is $8, but still, can’t beat it! The compactness, the mirror, the pan sizes, the pigmentation, the application are all A+.
I’m not done yet though! Are you ready for this wonderfully creative feature?! You can create your own palette of favorites! WHHHHAAAAT?! Yeah!! In these little palettes, the square pans all individually pop out so that you can snap them back together with your own go-to shades. Perfect for traveling! You can essentially create a whole face palette with a foundation square, a blush, a bronzer, and a highlighter. Granted, you need to buy all these palettes separately to do so but you can keep swapping out shades and/or finishes as you want/need!
How to pop out the squares: Turn your compact over to the back. Gently place your fingers along the back center of a product square and push. The product pan will pop out and you are good to go!
To put them back in the compact: Lay the pan in the desired quadrant and push the sides down. It’ll click back into place.
Be careful you don’t jam your nails into the product when the pan pops out (or when you’re putting it back in)…I did that a few times. Moment of silence please for all the lost product under my fingernails.
I hope you found this little tip to be useful and interesting! What are some product secrets that you have found in your own beauty discoveries?
