Turning left at the beauty junction today and going down the uncharted path of haircare. Spooky territory! I’ll be the first to admit that once I find a hair product that works I stick to it like glue! So that is why when
I found this magic product we were instantly in a committed relationship. For about 9 months now myself and the Not Your Mother’s Way to Grow Leave-In Conditioner ($7.99) have blossomed in to a beautiful pair.
Not Your Mother’s is a super cute haircare line. They have a range of all different products and are all affordable. My local Target just recently started carrying some of the line but a much larger selection of their line can be found at Ulta or online! Back to business! This magical unicorn spray in a bottle. Leave in conditioner isn’t just for when you were little anymore!
The Way to Grow spray is super moisturizing for your hair AND will help it to grow long & strong quicker! A combination of my 3 favorite things when it comes to hair. This is no joke. Using this spray will definitely transform your hair. The spray is formulated with Procapil…because you know what that is right? Oh good, yeah, me too (sigh). I looked it up for ya to find out what really makes this product tick. According to procapil.org, Procapil is a combination of vitaminated matrikine with apigenin and oleanolic acid. Again, what?! Simply put when these ingredients act together they form the super team of hair strength and hair loss prevention. It’s a win! The procapil stimulates the regeneration of hair follicles rather than them dying off (hair loss). It also aids in increasing blood flow to the scalp for that stronger, healthier hair. You can read more of the ins and outs here if you would like. Basically, this leave in conditioner is made with unicorn tears and will give you that strong, healthy, beautiful, long hair you’ve always wanted for a super affordable price. But does it really work? Let me tell you my experience.
First, you need some background on my luscious locks. I have very thick, long, dark, naturally curly hair. My hair is so thick that I can jump in the pool and come out of the water with just the ends of my hair wet and the top of my head virtually dry. You can imagine how much conditioner I go through! Or what it’s like to brush my hair. My hair hears the word “knotty” or “dry” and instantly changes. Most of the time my hair is up in a bun on top of my head because we get in fights on a regular basis. Curly hair doesn’t just dry beautifully curly and perfect every time like everyone thinks! 8 times out of 10 it’s a frizz ball. One day I was fed up with my long hair and decided to chop it up to my shoulders (regret #1). Needless to say when curly hair is wet its straight and long however, when it dries it kinks up and is shorter. Chopping my hair to my shoulders was SUPER short. That expression short hair, don’t care? Yeah, I cared. A LOT. So, I straightened my hair basically every day (regret #2). Not only did I lose a lot of my curl but I damaged a good portion of it.
Fast forward, I was in my sister’s room stealing some leggings and I saw the spray on her dresser. Obviously, I took it and the leggings. WOW, was my life changed! After the first couple of uses my hair didn’t feel dry or dull anymore. It actually had life! My hair was super easy to brush, smelled great but even better it felt healthy again. I used this just about every day for 2 months. My hair was stronger and healthier like it was before I spontaneously ruined my life in a salon chair. Again, going back to my curly hair…once curly hair is dried you are not brushing that sucker unless you want an afro. Therefore, I use my regular shampoo and conditioner in the shower, brush out my hair, give my hair a few sprays of the Way to Grow while still damp and lightly brush it through once more. Although I still put my hair in a bun most days, it is super long and curly again; our nightmare short hair experience is behind us.
Quick tip: The Way to Grow Leave-In Conditioner is PHENOMENAL for after the pool! No knots just smooth sailing for that dreaded brush through your chlorinated hair!
